Project 3: Storyboard!

  1. I really like the way your video is coming along. The concept is funny and entertaining and the storyboards are clearly laid out. The story makes sense and there is a clear start, middle, and end.

The part that gets a little confusing for me is with the phone. At first, I thought that graphic was a TV, so maybe you either have the phone graphic start out vertical and then switch to horizontal, or maybe it sounds like a phone with phone-like sound effects, or maybe it will be more clear when the voice over is put together...
Also, for the part with the octopus silly band, it seems like the voice over might be talking about this frame for awhile, so I would make the octopus move, for a little bit of visual interest while the voice over is explaining. I don't think the kids graphics need to get smaller to make room for the word "KIDS." Maybe the word "KIDS" could appear over top of them, like the same size as the word "YES."

I like the simple type and color choices. It is clear and to the point, but still playful and descriptive.

The notes communicate the motions and transitions and I can start to visualize what is being described in my head.

I don't know much about silly bandz, but for some reason, I think it would be cute if the silly bandz were moving in the text message. Maybe? Just a thought!

From the storyboard, it seems like your timing will be determined by the voice over. As long as your voice over isn't speaking too fast, I think the timing will be fine.

I would include cell phone or text messaging sound effects in addition to the voice over. I don't know what your brother is like, but I am imagining that his voice will be silly, animated, and expressive.
